What I Learned this Semester

What I learned this Semester...

This semester has been a whirlwind. It is shocking to think that this semester is coming to an end. This class has been very beneficial for me. I feel that I am walking out of this class with loads of knowledge. I have learned so much about fabrics, carpeting, dying and many more things.
Taking this class made me feel more like an interior designer. Learning about all the different types of fabric made me feel like that. I learned about twill weaves, stain weaves, and plain weaves. I will walk away from this class, knowing what fabrics are made out of and the amount of content in each. I also learned the names of each fabric.  When I visit fabric stores it makes me feel so professional when I can point to a fabric and know the name of that fabric.
I am also walking away from this class with knowledge from all of the field trips. The field trips were extremely beneficial to me. I feel that being exposed to all the different industries that an interior designer deals with really helped me. I learned about different kinds counter tops products at Collins Tile and Stone, I learned about eco-friendly flooring while visiting Leftwhich and Chapman. I really loved the leather flooring at Leftwhich and Chapman.
I feel that the most important thing that I am taking away from this class, is the fact that I have found my passion in life. I feel that this class has reinspired me. This semester has been tough for me, and when I go to this class I am reminded of why I picked this profession. I remember that I am good at what I do, but I am may not be perfect. Materials made me take a step back, and look at my major from a different way.
This class taught so much more about my job profession, but the thing I feel that I learned the most is how I love this profession. The class reminded me why I want to be an interior designer. I am very glad I had this class this
